February 6 was a Wednesday, our regular painting day, with lovely weather, but also the Wet Paint Live event, with Phyllis participating...with her huge canvas!  Her spot was the top of the Judge Jolley Bridge, capturing the Marco Skyline and the closest shore by the yacht club.  I decided to join her, but painted facing over the old bridge, which is lower, my view of the ABC Islands.  Lots of folks stopped by, mostly pausing by car (there is an extra lane on the new span), and some new friends were made.  Many other painters worked by the bottom of the bridge, on both sides.  Lots of new work created!

Linda Daton with her watercolors...and cool hat!

Barbara Quinn-Grasso with a warm pastel underpainting.

Nancy Norman works the bay with pastels.

Jeanne Held found a shady spot to work in watercolor.

The Marco Island Outdoor Artists headed down to the end of Shell Island Road, to the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.  Sparkling weather, perfect for painting!  A few artists were routed by racoons, which are supposed to be nocturnal...they are not easy to shoo away!  Phyllis led a wonderful critique session in the early afternoon.  We are great at encouraging each other!

Judy Chinski and her beautiful watercolor of Residents' Beach...in spite of the wind!
